Patrick McDougal recently completed a year-long deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and in mid-May he re-assumed his duties as program coordinator for SPN. McDougal, a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army Reserves, deployed as a member of the 303rd Tactical Psychological Operations (PSYOP) Company.
During his deployment, McDougal served as the Tactical PSYOP Detachment 1150 NCOIC, providing support to first the 4th Brigade, 4th ID Brigade Combat Team and then to the 2nd Brigade, 1st CAV DIV BCT in downtown Baghdad, Iraq. Utilizing interpersonal communications, loudspeakers, print and broadcast media, McDougal supported efforts by coalition forces to assist in the unhindered functioning of the government and security forces of Iraq. This was the second time McDougal deployed since coming to SPN. In 2003 he was deployed to Iraq as a Tactical PSYOP Team Chief.
With his return to SPN, McDougal will execute programs and projects from the Washington, D.C.-area offices while providing services and support to SPN members.
