Steven B. Hantler is Director of Policy Initiatives for The Marcus Family Office. In this capacity he advises Bernie Marcus in the areas of public policy, free enterprise and entrepreneurship, national security, higher education and liability reform. He joined The Marcus Family Office in 2007 after a 27-year career with Chrysler Corporation.
At Chrysler, Mr. Hantler was Assistant General Counsel for Government and Regulation. He directed the Company's Class Action Group, Consumer Litigation Group, litigation communications function, and legal reform activities. He brought leadership and innovation to a succession of management roles resulting in reduced costs and better legal outcomes for the Company. Prior to joining Chrysler, he was engaged in the private practice of law.
Mr. Hantler is one of the nation's leading experts on litigation strategy, crisis management, litigation communications and liability reform. His innovative approach to integrating litigation and communications was featured in CNBC profiles. He has contributed to legal reform initiatives in many states and at the federal level.
He is frequently invited to speak at national meetings on crisis management, litigation strategy and communications, liability reform and process re-engineering among other topics. Several of his speeches have been published in Vital Speeches of the Day. His articles have been published by The Wall Street Journal, Investor's Business Daily, Chief Executive Magazine, Litigation Management Magazine, Inside Litigation Magazine, and the Examiner Newspapers. His "Guide to State Legal Climates" is published annually by Directorship Magazine.
He chairs the board of directors of the State Government Leadership Foundation, which is dedicated to educating state leaders on timely public policy issues, and of the Foundation for Fair Civil Justice. He is a Senior Fellow at the Pacific Research Institute and member of the Legal Policy Advisory Board of the Washington Legal Foundation. He also serves on the board of directors of the New York University Law School Center for Labor and Employment. He previously served as the Chair of the Advisory Board of the National Judicial College and of the American Justice Partnership.
Mr. Hantler is also the chief executive officer of Right On Demand, America's first conservative entertainment network with television, internet and mobile platforms. Right On Demand Television will debut on Comcast and other cable providers in early 2010.
