RESERVATION REQUIREDRegistration is now closed This year's event will focus on innovation for public policy leaders, think tank professionals, and grassroot advocates. Held directly before the Heritage Foundation's Resource Bank event, this annual training seminar is designed to substantially improve the effectiveness of market-oriented policy institutes and the management skills of their leaders. In the current economic climate, it is important for organizations to learn strategies that maximize their efficiency and demonstrate their value to supporters. This breakfast will help you learn how you can move your organization past just existing to prospering. We are pleased to have the following speakers elucidate on ideas and ways to be innovative and effective: Dan Pallotta, author of Uncharitable and founder of Pallotta TeamWorks. Presentation Video Dan Pallotta will discuss his ground-breaking book Uncharitable, which addresses the need for the capitalization of philanthropy. Most charities lack the money, techniques, and talent they need to succeed, so instead of just borrowing business methods from the for-profit world, they need to embrace capitalism and seek to make a profit through furthering their mission. Dan argues that charity is no longer an exchange between the non-needy and the needy. It is an exchange between equals to help the needy; between the donors and the charity work force to provide services to the needy. View recent reviews of Uncharitable. View an interview with Dan on Reason TV. Tony Woodlief, Vice-President of Academic Programs for the Market-Based Management Institute.
Tony Woodlief will discuss how to innovate by first understanding what your organization's capabilities are and how to link them to market opportunities. He'll also discuss the importance of experimentation and measurement in fleshing out what your innovative venture needs to become. | |
