2010 Leadership Development Breakfast
Featuring Arthur C. Brooks,
President of American Enterprise Institute

Join State Policy Network for an exciting opportunity to hear from one of the brightest minds and entrepreneurial leaders of our movement in advance of The Heritage Foundation's 33rd Annual Resource Bank in Miami, Florida. The session will focus on innovative tactics and best practices to improve your organization's ability to advance our message of liberty and economic freedom. This is a valuable session for all grassroots advocates, policy leaders and think tank staff.

Arthur C. Brooks, President of American Enterprise Institute, will draw on his experience as a policy expert, management practitioner and professor to address what free market leaders must do to protect America's reverence for the entrepreneurial spirit. This includes the role of think tanks in advancing ideas, messaging that speaks to emotions and building organizations for longevity. In addition, Mr. Brooks will offer a sneak peak and share insights from his forthcoming book, The Battle: How the Fight between Free Enterprise and Big Government Will Shape America's Future (Basic Books, June 1st), including a plan of action to defend our free market values. This is a critical and timely message that impacts how state and national leaders can regain the upper hand in the policy and culture wars.

Arthur C. Brooks is the president of the American Enterprise Institute. Previously, he was the Louis A. Bantle Professor of Business and Government Policy at Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He is the author of Who Really Cares (Basic Books, 2006), which examines American charitable giving; Gross National Happiness: Why Happiness Matters for America-and How We Can Get More of It (Basic Books, 2008); and a textbook on social entrepreneurship.

About SPN

State Policy Network is made up of free market think tanks - at least one in every state - fighting to limit government and advance market-friendly public policy at the state and local levels. SPN and our members make the Founders' vision for the American Republic a reality as the nation's only 50-state distribution network for market-oriented public policy ideas. Our programs advance and defend American liberty and free enterprise by assisting new start-up organizations, growing existing state think tanks, recruiting talent to the think tank industry, developing strategic partnerships, and promoting the free-market state movement.
