State Policy Network is committed to strengthening America's federalist system by assisting state-focused think tanks that promote and safeguard the principles of limited government, rule of law, property rights, personal freedom and economic liberty. This is accomplished through investing in the infrastructure of state think tanks through training programs and other resources that strengthen organizations to have greater impact. Every program State Policy Network provides is designed to support existing groups and guide start-ups into ongoing, viable organizations.
Think Tank Leadership Training
State Policy Network seeks to substantially improve the practical effectiveness of market-oriented policy institutes through developing the management and leadership skills of their staff and board leaders. By focusing on leadership and management talent development, state-based, market-oriented think tanks will be more effective, respected and successful advocates for personal and economic freedom in their states.
Recruiting and Mentoring
State Policy Network actively pursues and invests in new talent to strengthen the free market movement. As state think tanks grow and mature their need for quality staff increases. SPN is committed to filling those needs and also identifying and recruiting individuals that can serve as think tank entrepreneurs. Mentoring new recruits and young organizations is also an important component of ensuring the continued success and longevity of individual state think tanks and the free market movement as a whole.
Strategic Marketing
As a membership organization representing the think tank community, State Policy Network builds relationships with individuals and organizations interested in investing in the state-based, free market think tank movement. SPN also markets the think tank community through branding in order to promote the importance of state-based organizations.
Strengthening the Network
State Policy Network facilitates the promotion and exchange of innovative policy proposals, organizational management techniques and issue alerts among state-based, free market organizations. These efforts facilitate the employment of well-conceived policy ideas and management practices for member groups. SPN also leverages the power of the network of members to provide benefits and resources that would not be readily available to individual organizations.
