Jennifer Butler's lifelong belief in self-sufficiency and free markets led her to State Policy Network and her current role as Executive Vice President. She is responsible for finances, organization management, strategic planning, and assisting the president coordinate the vast number of SPN programs and resources that support state-focused market-oriented think tanks.
Ms. Butler has over 15 years experience in the public policy arena and running campaigns. Prior to joining SPN, she headed up several trade associations' government affairs departments in South Florida where she was an advocate for private property rights, advancement of homeownership opportunities, and limiting government interference with commercial and residential development. She has also lobbied on issues related to the restaurant industry, prison privatization, and health care.
A graduate of the Political Science department at Florida State University, she went on to earn her Masters in Public Administration with an emphasis in Administrative Law from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon.
She is a Florida native living in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband, daughter, and two retrievers. Weekends are spent gardening, running, attempting to paint, and enjoying her Second Amendment rights with an afternoon of shooting trap.
