Dr. Jo Kwong

For more than a decade, Jo Kwong has worked with her colleagues at the Atlas Economic Research Foundation in Fairfax, VA, to help develop and strengthen free-market public policy institutes around the world. Approximately two-thirds of Atlas's work is with ideas entrepreneurs and institute leaders outside of the United States. The remaining third is devoted to assisting new institute start-ups in the US and Canada.

Kwong, who received her doctorate in Natural Resource Economics and Management and a Masters from the University of Michigan also helps promote the free-market environmental message to international think tanks. She lectures internationally and has published books and articles, primarily as collaborative efforts with public policy institutes.

By appointment from former Governor George Allen, Kwong served on the Commonwealth of Virginia's State Water Control Board (1997-2000) and on the board of the Conservation and Recreation Foundation. She also serves on the advisory board of trustees for the State Policy Network, a membership organization of state-based public policy institutes, and the board of trustees of the Canadian Property Rights Research Institute in Calgary, Canada.
