She can frequently be found singing in a choir, and has sat on a selection committee for independent plays during the Curtain Players' Playwright Festival in Columbus. She spent a year in Wales as part of a study abroad program offered by Ohio Northern University, where she graduated early with high distinction and a degree in English literature.
